We’ve been wanting to bring in someone for improv for a while now, and it finally lined up. Cristina Martin is teaching at the studio for the first time in August, and we are really excited about what she’s bringing to our community of students. Almost every commercial audition we see mentions “we are looking for actors with improv experience,” and that’s one of the reasons we are hosting this workshop. Added to that, learning how to think on your feet and work from your instincts is essential for any actor. This is a workshop you don’t want to miss.

This isn’t about being funny—it’s about reconnecting with your instincts and discovering new freedom in your work. Expect a supportive, highly interactive environment that will leave you feeling like you’ve touched grass all day.
Led by UCB improviser and actor Cristina Martín, this workshop uses the principles of long-form improv to help actors deepen their craft, sharpen their instincts, build authentic connection, and respond truthfully under pressure.
Whether you’re new to improv or have years of experience, you’ll leave with practical tools for auditions, self-tapes, scene work, and on-camera performance—along with a few new friends and a renewed sense of what makes you uniquely castable.
Cristina Martin
is an actor, improviser, and teaching artist trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles. With a background in acting, sketch comedy, improvisation, and voice, she brings a collaborative, supportive approach to helping actors deepen their craft, trust their instincts, and create more grounded, authentic performances. She is represented by Stewart Talent Agency in New York, Nava Artists Agency in Los Angeles and a member of SAG-AFTRA.
