Intro to Acting: Mind, Body, & Voice
Mighty Tripod is thrilled to welcome Meg back to the studio! Meg is a dynamic instructor, a stellar performer, and we always hear great things about her from her students. In this class, Meg will teach you how to connect with your mind, body, and voice, which will allow you to build a foundation for dynamic performance and emotionally honest acting.
It is our firm belief that students of acting not only only need to learn the craft of acting, but they need a method for tuning and training their instrument (body) to become liberated and empowered performers.

In our current session (Jan-Feb 2022), all students are wearing masks for the entire time.
At this time, a COVID-19 vaccination is required for attendance, and your vaccination record must be brought to the first day of the session.

This 5-week class will introduce you to foundational acting concepts and vocabulary that apply to any medium (film, stage, voiceover). It will also help the actor begin to craft a personal practice to develop their “actor’s toolkit” for the demands of this work. Students will learn warm-up exercises that engage the body, the voice and the mind while also developing awareness of habits that may hinder you in performance. We will also explore acting as “doing”, a pursuit of action in response to a specific need. Students will work solo and in pairs, in a fun and supportive atmosphere, using structured exercises to take ownership of the basics of this craft.
