Course Info

This course will teach you how to breakdown a theatrical (film/TV) script to create clear and specific choices about the character and the action of the scene.  The tools provided in the course can be applied to any scene, and will give you more confidence when preparing scenes for camera.

During the course, students will work on dramatic and comedic scripts in order to instill a pathway to approach any type of theatrical role.

The course will also teach students on-camera techniques that will help them create memorable performances.

Performances in class are recorded then sent to students to extend the learning process.

During the course there will also be a self-taping assignment to reinforce or teach good habits and industry standards about the self-tape process.

THIS COURSE PROVIDES ESSENTIAL INSTRUCTION RIGHT NOW, AS AUDITIONS AND CALLBACKS ARE BEING HELD VIA VIDEO CONFERENCE.

I strongly recommend anyone interested in being in front of the camera to take a class with Angela and David at Mighty Tripod . They’re professional, personal and passionate in seeing local talent successfully working. I’ve been generously given “nuggets” that are invaluable.

Rich Snyder

MTAS STUDENT

I came back to Seattle after acting conservatory in New York.  I had taken Mighty Tripod Camera 2 before I left and while in New York I had an intuitive hit that Angela would be my mentor, teacher and coach when I got back.  In Camera 2 I could tell she was a master teacher, all around good person and the coach who could help me to my next stages as an artist.  I have taken a lot of acting classes, in Seattle and New York, and unique to Mighty Tripod:  Mighty Tripod students get acting gigs.  In other words, they work.

Obadiah Freeman

When I met Angela and Dave I could not have guessed how important they were going to be in mentoring me in my acting career and life as a performer. They started out as coaches to me when I took their Camera One class, where I was introduced to techniques that I use in my work today. After taking many classes and workshops, I’ve found Mighty Tripod to be the most reliable and informed resource to comprehensively understand and teach about the Northwest acting industry.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Industry is always changing, so it’s only natural that the market changes along with it. We teach students how to stay informed and current in the NW. Seattle is a smaller market, but NW actors are still competing with LA actors. At Mighty Tripod Acting Studio, David and Angela stay connected to current Industry trends, and have built relationships with all of the area’s casting directors and talent agents. We are also producers and working actors, so we can share the wisdom gleaned from our experiences as we travel along the Actor’s Path.

We look forward to working with you!~ David and Angela
