Levels: Beginners

This class is designed to teach you how get started as an actor. Whether your goal is to act in commercials, on stage, in voiceover, film/tv… Even if you just want to learn how to be a more effective communicator, then this class is a great option for you. Acting 101: Mind, Body, Voice is built to teach you how to access yourself – your own being – to create a compelling character in scripted work.

We will play acting and improv games, watch clips from film and TV, teach you how to breathe properly, work through mindset techniques, get you in front of the class and instill confidence, teach you the foundations of the craft, show you how to relax under pressure, get you working with scripts, and more.

If one of your goals as an actor is to pursue on-camera work, then after Acting 101 you can enroll in our on-camera education series (Camera 1 – 3; Self-Tape Academy).

This class is built to be your first 5-week course at MTAS, but if you have taken Camera 1 or our Self-Tape Academy, and still feel like you are missing something, then you should certainly consider Acting 101.
