We have a few options for beginners: Coaching, Intro to Acting, and Camera 1 (which will feel a little advanced if you have no experience, but it’s still open to all, ages 14+).
Mighty Tripod Acting Studio offers a workshop for the voice, taught by Meg McLynn, but we don’t teach classes or workshops about voice over. We recommend Seattle Voice Academy and Drew Hobson for this kind of training, locally.
Most of our acting classes take place in our Seattle studio in the Georgetown neighborhood. However, we offer virtual coaching sessions for actors of all ages and some workshops are held over Zoom.
Camera 1 and the Self-Tape Academy is open to actors age 14+. Camera 2 is 16+. There are exceptions, on occasion, so reach out to us if you have a special case. For actors younger than 14, we suggest private actor coaching or classes with Youth Theatre Northwest or Seattle Children’s Theatre.
Absolutely – assuming that we have time and are in town. Ping us before you place your order, and when you are ready, go here to make a purchase.
We can create a Performance Video for you, yes, and we can also assemble the footage/clips you have from booked work into a Demo Reel. A Performance Video will look like a self-tape, and is usually scene work, but can also be a monologue. We can put you on tape in our studio – professional lighting and audio, and reader service if you are doing scene work.
There are a lot of great agents in the PNW, and we know almost all of them quite well. Many of our students hire us for talent agency prep coaching, and you can learn about your options for representation here.
Our sister business, Seattle Actor Photos, is a highly regarded, studio headshot service. The studio photographer is David Hogan, who you probably know from Mighty Tripod.
Absolutely. We can help you rehearse, prep, and tape anything you need for your college/conservatory applications.

Yes. Students who have taken a 5-week (or longer) course at Mighty Tripod Acting Studio will receive a 10% discount on classes when they are not on Early Bird. Early Bird discounts are the best way to save, and there are other discounts for newsletter subscribers.
If you don’t have an agent, you will need to know where the local auditions are posted, and we highly suggest getting involved with the Seattle 48 Hour Film Project for their speed filmmaking competition, which occurs twice each year. Find their group on Facebook and introduce yourself when you are ready.
We offer a lot of different classes, and the best way to determine which class would fit you best, is to check out our class catalog. That should give you a pretty good idea of what programming we offer, and if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to chat with us here on our site. We will get back to you within 24 hours. If you are ready to sign up for a class now, check out our current calendar.
