3 Ways to Improve Your Acting
Hello, Friends, Fans, and Subscribers! We have THREE amazing actor training opportunities to tell you about, so read on and hold on to your socks!
It’s getting to be the high season of filmmaking in the Pacific Northwest, and we have been getting feedback from agents and casting directors about where actors need to improve, so we have prepared just what is needed to shape up your craft and get you ready for some on-camera acting!
First up, on Wednesday May 27, we welcome Tom Todoroff to town from Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Todoroff is coming to Seattle as a part of his Master Class & Auditioning Tour – “How to Get Out of Your Own Way and Have a Career.” He is a director, producer, and acting coach, and I was lucky enough to study with him when I was in LA. In the Master Class you will get up on your feet, or watch the work and learn from watching your peers. This is a one of a kind opportunity that we are proud to promote. Visit the FB Event page for more info or click here register.
Come June, we have two great one-day intensives brought to you by our founders, David S. Hogan and Angela DiMarco. On Sunday June 7, we bring you an Auditioning Intensive. In this session, “Booking the Job,” we will be putting actors through their paces: from the lobby, into the casting room, onto slating with confidence, learning about working skillfully even with the sides in your hands, crafting an amazing performance, and then exiting the room with grace. As you probably know (and especially if you are an actor), auditioning for the job is not the same as doing the job, and we have created this intensive so you know what to expect, how to execute, and stand out during your auditions! Everyone will be working with material from TV, film, commercial, and corporate auditions. AND, we will also teach you what common mistakes to avoid when you are in casting offices. Register today!
A week later, on Sunday June 14, we take you into the world of the set in the Working Actor Intensive, “On Set, No Sweat,” where we teach you how to get ready for your time on the set, what to expect, and who is who. We will also take you deeper into script analysis and character development, as you continue to flesh out your role. Additionally, you will learn how to interpret your callsheet, one liner, and day out of days documents. As we did in “Booking the Job,” we will also teach you what NOT to do when you are on set. Finally, we will teach you all about “Setequette,” so you come off like a polished professional, even if it’s your first time on a set! Register today!
