What is CD POV? – (Casting Director’s Point of View) is a workshop created by Ms. Imoru, in which she converts the workshop space into a literal casting studio and takes participants behind the scenes of the casting process. Participants then ‘play’ casting director, writer(s), producer(s), camera operator(s), and of course, actor(s). She recreates both the intense casting environment and shares the unique kinds of “data” that the “end user” (producers) sees in order to make their final choices in the casting process.
This Mighty Tripod ProductionsT/Nike Imoru Casting seminar draws on CD POV and offers a view of the casting process from that unique perspective.

Between March 5th and September 25th 2104, Nike Imoru, CSA
Reviewed – 3000 on-line actor profiles (1100 for series regular roles)
Observed – 2000 audition self tapes;
Auditioned – 900 hundred actors from Idaho to New York
Conducted – 300 hours of live casting sessions in Seattle and Spokane

Cast 90% NW actors in Z Nation, currently SyFy Channel’s top rated original series!
For her second seminar collaboration with MTP, Ms. Imoru will discuss the behind-the-scenes aspect of her work as a casting director who now works in tandem with executive producer and screen writers.
- How DO you get cast in a network tv show in the NW?
- How does the actor improve their chances of being seen and being cast?
- What are the differences between auditioning for the networks and auditioning for film?
- What makes effective business and marketing tools?
- Self-taping auditions – some important basic facts?
- She will offer concrete examples, from her own casting studio, of actors who ‘walked into the role’, and how they did it.
- She will also talk about coaching both LA and NW lead actors on film and TV sets.
From coaching to casting; on stage or screen, Ms. Imoru has become the region’s one-stop regional ‘actor-expert’. She has spent over a decade in the NW first teaching, then directing, coaching and casting some of the region’s finest actors. An actor herself, Ms. Imoru’s reach is always global; her passion for the actor, unstoppable and her unique understanding of the actor-in-process, unparalleled.
In a recent WoW (Words of Wisdom or just some simple words of advice from a casting director) …..Ms Imoru says:
“I didn’t need Z Nation to prove that I could cast a network tv show with 90% regional actors, I already knew that. I just needed a project to show the rest of the world, what it would look like when I did! Currently it looks like the best selling original series on SyFy.”
We hope you will join us for this one-of-a-kind event for actors in the NW.
