We hope you can join us! \nIn this workshop\, we take actors through a physical and vocal work\, along with games\, to get actors out of their heads and into their bodies. We spend time stretching\, breathing\, and warming up the voice before moving into games other exercises. \nAfter the warmup\, actors work on scenes or monologues. We also encourage participants to bring in material that they are preparing for upcoming auditions. Here is a link to a video of the warmup. \nIn contrast to our camera courses\, these workouts and the way into the work takes more of an intuitive and instinctive approach. DESCRIPTION:Camera 3: Advanced Acting for the Camera is a serious course for serious actors. It’s kind of like P90X for acting – it’s designed to kick your butt a little\, and leave you feeling really awesome afterwards. This course is designed to build toward mastery of the craft. In the course we work on scene study\, emotional preparation\, dynamic expression\, and continuity. We will work on scenes from film and television (and perhaps some original material)\, and all scenes will be recorded. At least one scene will be edited together and viewed/critiqued in class. Final scenes can emphasize image\, audio\, and acting\, and will be high enough quality to use as a demo (reel) clip (extra fee for this service – see below). \nPrerequisite: Camera 2 or instructor approval. This will help actors learn to work with different scene partners but on the same scene. \n•We will focus on Character study\, building the character and being “in the moment”. \n•We will also do Character improv\, where the actors do improvisation while in Character. \n*This workshop will not be filmed for footage. It is for the Actor to experience within the classroom\, about exploring character and not a finished product.
