DESCRIPTION:Join us for Camera 2\, our Intermediate acting for the camera course. In this course\, we will build on lessons taught in Camera 1\, and focus on scene study\, the callback audition\, self-taping\, commercials\, and the business of the business.\nAGES: 15 years and above.\nREGISTER: At the bottom of this page.\nEARLY BIRD PRICES: August 5-11 only.\nDATES: 5 weeks\, 5 classes. August 24 – September 21. Wednesday Nights. \nThis course is for students who have taken Camera 1\, and those with experience in front of the camera. While Camera 1 covered auditioning\, Camera 2 will focusing on increasing your callback rate\, helping you get into more rooms for auditioning\, refining your script analysis technique\, teaching on-camera technique\, and more. \nDuring the 5 weeks\, students will work on challenging scenes\, and difficult corporate copy. Camera 2 will also focus on video-submissions (which are becoming an industry standard). Self-taped videos will be reviewed in class\, and we will give feedback to teach student\, teaching them how to make professional looking videos\, filled with strong acting choices. \nAs always\, we send students home with video footage (on a flash card)\, so they can watch\, learn and grow. \nThe Industry is always changing\, so it’s only natural that the market changes along with it. We teach students how to stay informed and current in the NW. We may be in a smaller market\, but NW actors are still competing with LA actors. Actors will be sent a scene in advance and should prepare as if it were a real audition. The workshop will start with some group exercises and warm-ups\, then we will dive into the scenes. Actors will go through full audition simulation (sides allowed)\, then we will watch playback in the room and I will give feedback/direction for their callback. After a break we will go into a callback simulation. Actors will have no sides in hand\, and put their notes into action! My goal is to give actors great tips on preparing for an audition\, teach them how to take direction and help them bring it to the next level for their callback. \nACTORS PLEASE BRING: The scene prepared and ready to audition. He is a graduate of Western Washington University and was a founding member of iDiOM Theatre in Bellingham\, WA. Cook’s devotion to the stage shone brightly when he co-created a non-profit theater company\, The Possibilities\, in Seattle and immersed himself into the grassroots collective with his directoral debut of “The Devil and Billy Markham” by Shel Silverstein.  By 2004\, Cook started appearing in roles on independent and short films. After a string of low-budget gigs\, his first major film was in “John Carpenter’s The Ward”. Though the project was never a critical or commercial success\, it helped Cook find a minor part in the private detective thriller “The Big Bang” opposite Antonio Banderas. He is a graduate of Western Washington University and was a founding member of iDiOM Theatre in Bellingham\, WA. Cook’s devotion to the stage shone brightly when he co-created a non-profit theater company\, The Possibilities\, in Seattle and immersed himself into the grassroots collective with his directoral debut of “The Devil and Billy Markham” by Shel Silverstein.  By 2004\, Cook started appearing in roles on independent and short films. After a string of low-budget gigs\, his first major film was in “John Carpenter’s The Ward”. Though the project was never a critical or commercial success\, it helped Cook find a minor part in the private detective thriller “The Big Bang” opposite Antonio Banderas. These bookings have led to numerous roles in film\, TV and the web including roles on NCIS L.A.\, Criminal Minds\, Grimm and Funny or Die. Angela DiMarco\, Director of MTP’s Youth Division\, teaches these youth workshops the FIRST Monday of every month. You can register at the bottom of this page! \nThe workshop is open to actors ages 8 to 13 years old (some exceptions – contact Angela for more info). \nFor the month of May\, actors will dive into SCENE STUDY. The actors will be sent a scene a week in advance\, so they can prepare and memorize the scene\, and come to class ready to work. Angela is a hands-on coach\, getting on her feet with the actors\, exploring acting and character through games\, audition simulation\, and filming. The actor also has to be very smart about her business\, which includes savvy marketing practices.
