His work in front of the camera began in earnest in 2010\, and since then he has worked frequently in the medium. David began his training at Seattle University\, where he developed his skills as a physical performer and comic actor\, working in masque\, and on broad\, farcical plays. When in college\, he also discovered the joy of performing Shakespeare. Since graduation\, he has continued his training\, working with a host of other exceptional teachers\, learning about the craft and exploring performance and character development though a variety of techniques (Meisner\, Method\, Viewpoints\, Suzuki\, Classical Text Work). Recent credits include: Bad Samaritan starring David Tennant\, Paralytic\, Z Nation\, The Scottish Play\, Drowned World\, Chronoception\, The Device\, Super Secret\, A Bit of Bad Luck starring Cary Elwes. He is a passionate advocate for the northwest actor\, and his dedication to the craft and elevation of the Seattle film actor is unparalleled. As a producer with Angela DiMarco\, they have recently wrapped production on the feature film\, Paralytic. \nAngela was born and raised in Seattle\, Washington. She started in professional Theatre as a child and fell in love with performing. She was cast in her first feature film\, Waiting for the Light (starring Shirley MacLaine) when she was 10 years old. She then went on to study Commedia Dell’Arte\, improv\, and soon started teaching others. Since then\, she has become a full-time teaching and performing artist in Los Angeles and the NW. Angela not only has a passion for performing but also for working with children. Having been a child actor\, Angela enjoys helping guide young artists on their creative journey. She has taught and volunteered at out-reach programs for at-risk teens. She also prides herself in her annual short film production with Explorer West Middle-School students. Tuesday nights. \nThis course is for students who have taken Camera 1\, and those with some experience in front of the camera. While Camera 1 covered auditioning\, Camera 2 will focusing on increasing your callback rate\, refining your script analysis technique\, teaching on-camera techniques\, and more. \nDuring the 5 weeks\, students will work on challenging scenes\, and difficult corporate copy. Camera 2 will also focus on video-submissions (which are becoming an industry standard). In 1999\, she moved back to Seattle and began to teach young actors in the Northwest. Angela has worked steadily as a stage and film actress for over 20 years. Appearing at The Seattle Repertory Theatre\, Intiman Playhouse\, Village Theatre\, Seattle Shakespeare Company\, and more\, garnering praise from peers\, the press\, and receiving three Gregory Award Nominations: 2010-2012. DESCRIPTION:Camera 1 is our fundamentals course for actors 16 years old and up (with some exceptions for younger actors)\, which offers an extremely well rounded curriculum\, giving students comfort and confidence in front of the camera and setting them up for success in any venue (film\, TV\, commercial\, etc.). \nDuring this course\, we will also look at the business of the acting business\, covering things like local talent agents (and how to secure representation)\, actor headshots\, resumes\, casting directors\, where to find auditions\, and more. She then went on to study Commedia Dell’Arte\, improv\, and soon started teaching others. Since then\, she has become a full-time teaching and performing artist in Los Angeles and the NW. SUMMARY:Youth Audition Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn to audition for film and commercials in this fun and informative workshop for actors between 6-18 years. \nRegister at the bottom of this page! \nIn this workshop\, students will participate in mock auditions\, working in front of the camera in a real casting environment. Students will be assigned material ahead of time to prep\, but will also practice cold reading during the workshop. \nTaught by Angela DiMarco\, with assistance from David S. Hogan\, this workshop will give you great material for your “actor tool belt\,” and set you up for success at your next audition. \nParents of younger actors are welcome to stay during the workshop\, or they can take a short drive into Georgetown and have a drink and a bite at Starbucks or another neighborhood spot. Still a student at Summit K-12 Alternative School of the Arts\, she continued training and performing – in local commercials\, voice-overs\, and on the stage. She attended Otterbein College\, where she studied in the BFA program. She then moved to Los Angeles where she competed in IMTA (International Modeling and Talent Association) and received the award for Best Comedic Performance and signed with a manager. In 1999\, she moved back to Seattle and began to teach young actors in the Northwest. Angela has worked steadily as a stage and film actress for over 20 years. Appearing at The Seattle Repertory Theatre\, Intiman Playhouse\, Village Theatre\, Seattle Shakespeare Company\, and more\, garnering praise from peers\, the press\, and receiving three Gregory Award Nominations: 2010-2012. Having been a child actor herself\, she knows the struggles and fears that come with the territory. She hopes to share her own experiences to help the up and coming actors in the NW succeed.
