They cover all aspects of self taping — the technical challenges as well as the acting challenges.  They cover all genres of auditions including commercial copy\, scene work\, and monologues. The didactic approach of pre-recorded lectures\, on-line classes and individual notes on each student’s homework covers all the bases.  Individual private sessions on each homework assignment\, every week\, written AND live\, on-line\, is unique as far as I know\, and the quickest way I know to achieving excellence in this critical skill set. – Rich Snyder\n\n\nThe Self-Tape Academy has been a great way to build and engage in acting\, especially during this time of social distancing. As most in the industry know\, self taping is becoming the new norm\, and this class is a great way to get a jump on what is becoming routine. The academy provided amazing advice towards the video set-up\, editing\, and of course\, acting. The class has a good variation of skill levels where you can choose how much of a challenge you take on in different self-tape scenes. As a beginner\, I have found their feedback and notes in class to be invaluable. Their knowledge and experience is a direct source from someone who has been in the industry and has seen the move towards self-taping. During this difficult time of distancing (Spring 2020)\, the class has been a major outlet and way to build skills within acting. – Dorian Dolleman\n\n\n\nThis class has been exactly what I have needed to help improve my self-taping skills for auditions. I have especially appreciated “Coach’s Corner” where we get one-on-one sessions with David or Angela. The one-on-one sessions have been insanely helpful in helping me hone my craft while also learning to audition within my own space.  Additionally\, this class is helpful in developing a proper home set-up for self-tapes and learning basic editing tricks when submitting for auditions I have felt immensely supported throughout this process and I feel comfortable asking them questions I typically might not ask other instructors. They will go the extra mile for you 🙂\n– Ruchi Loomba\n\n\nOVERVIEW\nIn this online course\, you will learn how to master the self-tape audition. Hear me now\, believe me later\, self-taping is here to stay. In order to compete\, you need to know how to execute outstanding self tapes from your home\, even when you only have a narrow window of time to complete the task. \nAs actors\, educators\, and producers (we also cast and direct)\, our unique and informed perspectives will help you nail your next self-tape\, and boost your confidence whenever you have an audition. \nIn this interactive course (virtual classes with the Zoom conference app & virtual private coaching with the instructors)\, you get one-on-one time with Angela and David. You will learn: \n\nHow to set up your space.\nHow to light your space.\nInfo about cameras\, editing\, and microphones.\nWhat the industry expects.\nHow to slate like a pro.\nHow to audition and act on camera.\nHow to execute amazing reads for commercial and theatrical auditions.\nAnd much more.\n\nTAKE A LOOK INSIDE THE PROGRAM\n \nWe can’t wait to work with you and help you reach your goals! \n~ Angela and David

I went in thinking I needed to brush up on my camera technique; where to look\, how to stay in frame\, how to play to the camera\, etc. What I got was that and more: I’ve deepened my approach to acting\, both for the camera and for the stage. I’ve got a new set of tools I can use to prepare more fully for auditions and roles. And\, most importantly\, I’ve got a new sense of confidence that’s been making a big difference in real-world casting and on-set situations. I got so much out of the first class that I went on to take the next in the series\, and I plan to continue with Mighty Tripod’s ongoing classes and workshops.” – Marty Krouse \n\nThis dynamic course is for actors who are: \n\nNew to the world of acting.\nLooking to book more auditions.\nNeeding confidence in their work.\nLooking for new tools to add to their craft.\nExperienced in stage acting\, but new to on-camera acting.\nReady to learn more about how to get ahead in the Seattle industry.\n\nMEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS\n\nDavid has been acting professionally in Seattle since 2000\, and his work is critically acclaimed (David is a three time winner of the Seattle Times Footlight Award for Stellar Acting – 2002\, 2009\, and 2012. He also received the 2012 Gypsy Rose Lee Award). His work in front of the camera began in earnest in 2010\, and since then he has worked frequently in the medium. David began his training at Seattle University\, where he developed his skills as a physical performer and comic actor\, working in masque\, and on broad\, farcical plays. When in college\, he also discovered the joy of performing Shakespeare. Since graduation\, he has continued his training\, working with a host of other exceptional teachers\, learning about the craft and exploring performance and character development though a variety of techniques (Meisner\, Method\, Viewpoints\, Suzuki\, Classical Text Work). He is a passionate advocate for the northwest actor\, and his dedication to the craft and elevation of the Seattle film actor is unparalleled. – Rich Snyder\n\n\n\nThe Self-Tape Academy has been a great way to build and engage in acting\, especially during this time of social distancing. – Dorian Dolleman\n\n\n\n\nThis class has been exactly what I have needed to help improve my self-taping skills for auditions. SUMMARY:The Actor's Voice: Speaking Your Truth
DESCRIPTION:PRICE: $75\nAGES: 16+\nLEVELS: ALL \nWe are thrilled to host our dear friend\, Meg McLynn\, who is also an incredible performer and instructor. As on on-camera actor\, your voice is extremely important – its quality\, tone\, power\, flexibility and health\, all affect how you are perceived in your life\, and in your work. Don’t miss this opportunity at the studio to learn how to develop and strengthen one of your primary assets as a performer. \nIt’s the day of the audition\, and you are ready! You hit the gym and have carefully chosen your outfit\, your hair is perfectly styled\, you’ve worked on your sides and are excited to get into the room. And then you get ready to slate—and your mouth is bone dry. Or your voice cracks. Or a strange little laugh emerges. You were so prepared on so many levels\, but you didn’t know how to prepare your voice. And now you feel thrown!  \nVoice is one of the actor’s greatest tools\, but it is often overlooked when we are prepping for the audition or the booking. Knowing how to prepare your voice for anything that might happen in the room will give you more confidence\, both in your ability to nail the audition and also in the dynamics you can bring to your characters when you book the role. \nThis workshop will give you practical tools to understand how the voice works so that you can make it work for you. We will develop a basic warm-up practice that involves body\, breath\, mind\, and voice\, creating specific awareness of the physical nature of the voice\, and then we will apply these tools to some brief spoken text. We will have a discussion touching on voice for camera versus voice for stage\, as well as an overview of basic vocal health practices. \nThis workshop is physical in nature\, so come prepared to move! \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nINSTRUCTOR BIO\nMeg McLynn is an actor\, vocalist\, and teaching artist who has been seen on stages and screens throughout North America. Local acting credits include roles with Seattle Shakespeare Company\, Book-It Rep\, Seattle Symphony\, ArtsWest\, Seattle Opera\, Seattle Public Theatre\, Washington Ensemble Theatre\, Theatre22\, and 14/48: TWQTF\, as well as the feature films “Different Drummers”\, “7 Minutes”\, and “Colton”. \nHaving studied voice and speech for 7 years under renowned voice teacher Kristin Linklater\, Meg now works with students to help them take ownership of their wonderfully unique voices. She teaches Voice and Speech at Cornish College of the Arts\, and she serves as a vocal coach with Jack Straw Studios. Meg teaches the Core Curriculum at Freehold Theatre Lab\, in addition to teaching their Voice and Text classes. She has assisted with voice training at Columbia Business School and World Leaders Forum in New York City. \nMeg is a member of the Seattle-based vocal groups\, Sugartime Trio and Blue Plate Special. As a concert soloist\, she performs the songbooks of Patsy Cline\, Judy Garland\, and Carly Simon with Purple Phoenix Productions\, and she has been an Anthem Singer for the Seattle Seahawks.

SUMMARY:Thriving in Los Angeles with Ashley Jackson
DESCRIPTION:Mighty Tripod Acting Studio is thrilled to host Ashley Jackson for her seminar\, Thriving in Los Angeles! \nWHAT:\nAn informational seminar with Q & A for actors moving (or considering) a career move to Los Angeles with special guest\, Ashley Jackson. 1 Hour Seminar + 30 Minute Q & A. Appropriate for actors age 13+\, and parents are encouraged to attend.\nWHY:\nThe on-camera acting industry is probably the most competitive field you can get into\, and Los Angeles offers incredible opportunities\, but can also be overwhelming if you are unprepared for the journey. This seminar is designed to help actors prepare for their time in the LA area.\nREGISTER:\nAt the bottom of this page. \nMORE INFORMATION:\n\nIn this seminar Ashley will be speaking about how new actors can use their knowledge they’ve learned in Seattle in order to have a successful first year in LA. \nGrowing up in University Place\, WA\, (suburb of Tacoma)\, I was able to create a lane for myself by working in production as well as acting. Throughout my time in WA\, I worked with various productions like Grey’s Anatomy and The Librarians. – Ashley Jackson \nThe seminar will also cover what to do before moving to Los Angeles and who to connect with in Seattle and in LA for a successful transition.\n\n\nSince moving to LA\, I’ve had many actors from the Pacific Northwest reach out to me about how I’ve made the move and what I’ve done to remain in LA. – Ashley Jackson\n\nWhat will students walk away with?\nA deeper understanding of the film industry in Seattle and in LA. Also\, how to prepare to move from a smaller film market to a larger film market.\n\nINSTRUCTOR BIO\n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n\nOriginally from University Place\, Washington\, Ashley Noelle Jackson attended Catawba College in Salisbury\, North Carolina\, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts in 2013. \nSince then\, she’s performed as Mercy Jones on the TV show\, The Librarians\, formerly on the TNT Network. Also\, Ashley landed a principal role in a Credit Sesame Commercial\, which was featured regionally throughout the United States during the Super Bowl in 2018. \nIn 2018\, Ashley decided to pack up her car and move to Los Angeles\, which proved to be an enlightening experience. Within months\, she secured an agent and booked the AT&T campaign\, Kings of Style\, featuring A$AP Rocky and Dapper Dan. \nAshley’s greatest passion is helping other film professionals reach their fullest potential. She speaks professionally throughout the United States about her acting journey in hopes to encourage the next generation of actors and film artists to achieve their dreams. \nNow\, she is currently writing a book affectionately named\,Love Sister. In the book\, she talks about her life journey as well as shares all of the advice her oldest sister\, Leslie Harris\, gave to her throughout the years. The release date for Love Sister is April 27th\, 2020\, which is her oldest sister’s birthday.

I got so much out of the first class that I went on to take the next in the series\, and I plan to continue with Mighty Tripod’s ongoing classes and workshops.” – Marty Krouse \n[button link=”https://mightytripod.com/testimonials/” type=”big” color=”green” newwindow=”yes”] Read more testimonials![/button] \n\nThis dynamic course is for actors who are:\n\n\nNew to the world of acting.\n\n\nLooking to book more auditions.\n\n\nNeeding confidence in their work.\n\n\nLooking for new tools to add to their craft.\n\n\nExperienced in stage acting\, but new to on-camera acting.\n\n\nReady to learn more about how to get ahead in the Seattle industry.\n\n\nYOUR INSTRUCTORS [David S.
