DESCRIPTION:Virtual\nLevels: All\nAges: 18+\n\nWelcome Back\, Sean Cook!\nMighty Tripod Acting Studio is thrilled to reconnect with Los Angeles actor\, producer\, and teacher\, Sean Cook. He has been with us before as a guest instructor\, and we are very fortunate to have him back for his dynamic workshop about auditioning for Co-Star roles. \n \nThis is essential training\, especially considering that Washington recently increased its annual film incentive package\, which will mean more audition opportunities for these kinds of jobs. Needless to say\, David & Angela highly recommend this virtual workshop. Read on for more information\, and register at the bottom of this page. \n“In this workshop actors will prepare and present a two- or three-page scene for a co-star role from a current television series. Workshop materials will be provided and available to actors as soon as they register for the date. All actors will present their work be offered immediate feedback.  \nAs a group we will begin to recognize\, define\, and utilize key techniques for a successful audition. Appropriate terms and techniques might include focal points\, framing\, lighting\, vocal energy\, moment before the action\, allowing the listening\, non-verbal reactions as they relate to our “other\,” serve the story\, the “final” thought or button. \nTime permitting\, actors will be given an under-five audition (characters with less than five lines) to prepare and present as a finale wherein they incorporate previously encountered terms and techniques. \nFinally\, UPROARIOUS APPLAUSE! I’m so excited to meet you and looking forward to it MIGHTILY.” \n~ Sean Cook \nBIO \nSean joins us from Pasadena where he has worked and studied for over 13 years. Hogan\nCo-Founders \nLead Instructors \n \nLeah Lee\nMTAS STUDENT \nI strongly recommend anyone interested in being in front of the camera to take a class with Angela and David at Mighty Tripod . They’re professional\, personal and passionate in seeing local talent successfully working. I’ve been generously given “nuggets” that are invaluable.  \n \nRich Snyder\nMTAS STUDENT \nI came back to Seattle after acting conservatory in New York.  I had taken Mighty Tripod Camera 2 before I left and while in New York I had an intuitive hit that Angela would be my mentor\, teacher and coach when I got back.  In Camera 2 I could tell she was a master teacher\, all around good person and the coach who could help me to my next stages as an artist.  I have taken a lot of acting classes\, in Seattle and New York\, and unique to Mighty Tripod:  Mighty Tripod students get acting gigs.  In other words\, they work.  \n \nObadiah Freeman\nMTAS STUDENT \nWhen I met Angela and Dave I could not have guessed how important they were going to be in mentoring me in my acting career and life as a performer. They started out as coaches to me when I took their Camera One class\, where I was introduced to techniques that I use in my work today. After taking many classes and workshops\, I’ve found Mighty Tripod to be the most reliable and informed resource to comprehensively understand and teach about the Northwest acting industry. \nOVERVIEW/COURSE ELEMENTS\n\nScene Study Technique\nAudition Simulation\nComedy Techniques\nCharacter Building\nPartner Work\nSelf-Tape Assignment & Critique\n\nFINAL THOUGHTS\nThe Industry is always changing\, so it’s only natural that the market changes along with it. We teach students how to stay informed and current in the NW. Seattle is a smaller market\, but NW actors are still competing with LA actors. At Mighty Tripod Acting Studio\, David and Angela stay connected to current Industry trends\, and have built relationships with all of the area’s casting directors and talent agents. We are also producers and working actors\, so we can share the wisdom gleaned from our experiences as we travel along the Actor’s Path. \nWe look forward to working with you!~ David and Angela

They cover all aspects of self taping — the technical challenges as well as the acting challenges.  They cover all genres of auditions including commercial copy\, scene work\, and monologues. The didactic approach of pre-recorded lectures\, on-line classes and individual notes on each student’s homework covers all the bases.  Individual private sessions on each homework assignment\, every week\, written AND live\, on-line\, is unique as far as I know\, and the quickest way I know to achieving excellence in this critical skill set. – Rich Snyder\n\n\nThe Self-Tape Academy has been a great way to build and engage in acting\, especially during this time of social distancing. As most in the industry know\, self taping is becoming the new norm\, and this class is a great way to get a jump on what is becoming routine. The academy provided amazing advice towards the video set-up\, editing\, and of course\, acting. The class has a good variation of skill levels where you can choose how much of a challenge you take on in different self-tape scenes. As a beginner\, I have found their feedback and notes in class to be invaluable. Their knowledge and experience is a direct source from someone who has been in the industry and has seen the move towards self-taping. During this difficult time of distancing (Spring 2020)\, the class has been a major outlet and way to build skills within acting. – Dorian Dolleman\n\n\n\nThis class has been exactly what I have needed to help improve my self-taping skills for auditions. I have especially appreciated “Coach’s Corner” where we get one-on-one sessions with David or Angela. The one-on-one sessions have been insanely helpful in helping me hone my craft while also learning to audition within my own space.  Additionally\, this class is helpful in developing a proper home set-up for self-tapes and learning basic editing tricks when submitting for auditions I have felt immensely supported throughout this process and I feel comfortable asking them questions I typically might not ask other instructors. They will go the extra mile for you 🙂\n– Ruchi Loomba\n\n\nOVERVIEW\nIn this online course\, you will learn how to master the self-tape audition. Hear me now\, believe me later\, self-taping is here to stay. In order to compete\, you need to know how to execute outstanding self tapes from your home\, even when you only have a narrow window of time to complete the task. \nAs actors\, educators\, and producers (we also cast and direct)\, our unique and informed perspectives will help you nail your next self-tape\, and boost your confidence whenever you have an audition. \nIn this interactive course (virtual classes with the Zoom conference app & virtual private coaching with the instructors)\, you get one-on-one time with Angela and David. You will learn: \n\nHow to set up your space.\nHow to light your space.\nInfo about cameras\, editing\, and microphones.\nWhat the industry expects.\nHow to slate like a pro.\nHow to audition and act on camera.\nHow to execute amazing reads for commercial and theatrical auditions.\nAnd much more.\n\nTAKE A LOOK INSIDE THE PROGRAM\n \nWe can’t wait to work with you and help you reach your goals! \n~ Angela and David
