CLASS DATES: June 10 – 24\, 6pm – 9pm (Wednesdays). No previous training is required—just curiosity\, openness\, and a willingness to participate. Intro to Acting is designed to provide a clear\, supportive introduction to the craft of acting and help students understand what modern acting training actually looks like. This workshop was built for aspiring actors who are interested in learning how to connect with themselves\, their voice\, and their body in order to create a character and tell a story. Intro to Acting is a great starting point for the novice\, and will provide a solid foundation for continued work on the craft at Mighty Tripod Acting Studio. \n \n \n \n WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON \n \n \n \n This workshop provides an introduction to core acting fundamentals\, including: Relaxation and breathwork Physical and vocal awareness Introductory text analysis Improvisation and ensemble exercises Classes are hands-on and collaborative\, creating a supportive environment where students are encouraged to take risks\, experiment\, and make discoveries. Individual feedback is offered throughout to support both technical development and personal confidence. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Meg McLynn \n \n \n \n MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Meg McLynn is an actor\, vocalist\, and teaching artist whose work spans stage\, screen\, and concert performance throughout North America. She brings extensive professional experience and deep training to the classroom\, with a teaching style that is rigorous\, supportive\, and accessible for beginning actors. Meg is a member of the Seattle-based vocal groups Sugartime Trio\, Blue Plate Special\, and The ABBAgraphs. She has been an anthem singer for the Seattle Seahawks\, and performs solo “songbook” concerts celebrating the lives and careers of Patsy Cline\, Judy Garland\, and Carly Simon with The Purple Phoenix Orchestra. She studied voice and speech for seven years under Kristin Linklater\, and her teaching integrates breath\, body\, voice\, and emotional truth in a grounded\, practical way. Meg teaches Voice and Speech at Cornish College of the Arts at Seattle University and at Seattle Film Institute.
