SUMMARY:Self-Tape Academy
DESCRIPTION:The Self-Tape Academy is designed to help you set up your at-home audition space and teach you how to stand out during your on-camera auditions. All the details are below\, and you can register at the bottom of this page.\nCourse Dates\nAPRIL 5 – MAY 3WEEKLY ZOOM MEETINGS \nSTART TIME: 6:30pm PST \nMTAS Self-Tape Academy\n\nHave you ever wondered if your self-tapes were up to industry standards?\nDo you want to learn how to make your auditions from home stand out with lighting\, audio\, and truthful acting choices?\nDo you want tips and tricks from actors/producers working right now in the film/TV/commercial market?\n\nIf you answered yes to any of these questions\, then this academy is for you. \nThe self-tape is the most common way to audition currently\, so if you don’t know how to create a compelling and up-to-industry-standard video from home\, you will have trouble getting work as an actor. \n \nChap Wolff \nTestimonial\n“I learned so much about how to build a better self tape audition. Even though the class was focused mainly on creating self tape auditions\, the little bit of coaching on my acting helped make me a better on camera actor as well. I highly recommend taking what classes you can from Mighty Tripod.” \nFaq \n  \nAge: 15+\nClick on the text box to add the answer to your frequently asked question. \n  \n5 Zoom Classes: 1-2 hours each\nSelect this whole box and click Add New Toggle in the menu. \n  \nWeekly 1:1 Zoom Coaching for all students\nAnswer3 \n  \nLevels: Beginner+\nAnswer4 \n  \nWe will teach you how to set up your “studio”\nAnswer5 \n  \nYounger actors can contact us for training!\nAnswer6 \nWhy you should take this course\nSelf-taping is here to stay\, and the modern on-camera actor needs to know how to set up and excel in there at-home taping studio or “Zoom Room.” \nActors are not only taping auditions from home\, they are auditioning and performing over video conference calls\, and this virtual course\, taught by MTAS founders Angela DiMarco and David S. Hogan\, is built to help you thrive in this new virtual environment. We have been offering our Self-Tape Academy since March of 2020\, and students have raved about its effectiveness. Not only are we providing information and insights about all the technical aspects of the self-tape and the Zoom Room\, but we are providing one-on-one coaching\, each and every week\, where students received feedback about their setup and their acting choices. \nThis course is fun\, exciting\, and filled with information and tools you can immediately apply during your next self-tape or Zoom-based audition. \nFinal Thoughts\nMighty Tripod Acting Studio was founded in 2012\, and since opening our doors\, we have taken great pride instructing\, challenging\, and uplifting actors from all walks of life. We believe in and promote inclusivity\, and we work hard to create spaces – virtually and in-studio – where actors feel comfortable\, supported\, and inspired. If  you have any questions\, please don’t hesitate to reach out. \nMaster the Craft | Discover Your Talent | Empower Your Art

SUMMARY:Self-Tape Academy Online
DESCRIPTION:OUR FIRST CLASS OF 2021!\nLEARN HOW TO CRUSH YOUR SELF-TAPES!\nHave you ever wondered if your self-tapes were up to industry standards?\nDo you want to learn how to make your auditions from home stand out with lighting\, audio\, and truthful acting choices?\nDo you want tips and tricks from actors/producers working right now in the film/TV/commercial market? \nIf you answered yes to any of these questions\, then this academy is for you. \nINFO\nSTART DATE: January 04\, 2021\nOur Academy is a 5-Week\, Interactive Program:\n– Weekly Virtual Meetings via ZOOM PLATFORM. Class meets each Monday of the session from 6:30-8:30pm PST (sometimes we will end earlier)\n– Weekly self-tape assignments!\n– Weekly Coach’s Corner meetings: Virtual coaching appointments (to be scheduled) with Angela & David. This is an incredible opportunity for 1:1 feedback with MTAS founders.\nLevels: Beginners+ (students should have some acting experience).\nAges: 16+ (younger actors should enroll in virtual actor training or private coaching). \nDates\, rates\, and more info below! \nLEARN ABOUT THE PROGRAM (watch the video below) \n \nTESTIMONIALS\n\nI have taken self tape workshops in New York City and they were good.  Mighty Tripod’s is even better.  David and Angela’s course is well organized and thought out. They cover all aspects of self taping — the technical challenges as well as the acting challenges.  They cover all genres of auditions including commercial copy\, scene work\, and monologues. The didactic approach of pre-recorded lectures\, on-line classes and individual notes on each student’s homework covers all the bases.  Individual private sessions on each homework assignment\, every week\, written AND live\, on-line\, is unique as far as I know\, and the quickest way I know to achieving excellence in this critical skill set. – Rich Snyder\n\n\nThe Self-Tape Academy has been a great way to build and engage in acting\, especially during this time of social distancing. As most in the industry know\, self taping is becoming the new norm\, and this class is a great way to get a jump on what is becoming routine. The academy provided amazing advice towards the video set-up\, editing\, and of course\, acting. The class has a good variation of skill levels where you can choose how much of a challenge you take on in different self-tape scenes. As a beginner\, I have found their feedback and notes in class to be invaluable. Their knowledge and experience is a direct source from someone who has been in the industry and has seen the move towards self-taping. During this difficult time of distancing (Spring 2020)\, the class has been a major outlet and way to build skills within acting. – Dorian Dolleman\n\n\n\nThis class has been exactly what I have needed to help improve my self-taping skills for auditions. I have especially appreciated “Coach’s Corner” where we get one-on-one sessions with David or Angela. The one-on-one sessions have been insanely helpful in helping me hone my craft while also learning to audition within my own space.  Additionally\, this class is helpful in developing a proper home set-up for self-tapes and learning basic editing tricks when submitting for auditions I have felt immensely supported throughout this process and I feel comfortable asking them questions I typically might not ask other instructors. They will go the extra mile for you 🙂\n– Ruchi Loomba\n\n\nOVERVIEW\nIn this online course\, you will learn how to master the self-tape audition. Hear me now\, believe me later\, self-taping is here to stay. In order to compete\, you need to know how to execute outstanding self tapes from your home\, even when you only have a narrow window of time to complete the task. \nAs actors\, educators\, and producers (we also cast and direct)\, our unique and informed perspectives will help you nail your next self-tape\, and boost your confidence whenever you have an audition. \nIn this interactive course (virtual classes with the Zoom conference app & virtual private coaching with the instructors)\, you get one-on-one time with Angela and David. You will learn: \n\nHow to set up your space.\nHow to light your space.\nInfo about cameras\, editing\, and microphones.\nWhat the industry expects.\nHow to slate like a pro.\nHow to audition and act on camera.\nHow to execute amazing reads for commercial and theatrical auditions.\nAnd much more.\n\nTAKE A LOOK INSIDE THE PROGRAM\n \nWe can’t wait to work with you and help you reach your goals! \n~ Angela and David

I went in thinking I needed to brush up on my camera technique; where to look\, how to stay in frame\, how to play to the camera\, etc. What I got was that and more: I’ve deepened my approach to acting\, both for the camera and for the stage. – Rich Snyder\n\n\n\nThe Self-Tape Academy has been a great way to build and engage in acting\, especially during this time of social distancing. – Dorian Dolleman\n\n\n\n\nThis class has been exactly what I have needed to help improve my self-taping skills for auditions. You will learn: \n\nHow to set up your space.\nHow to light your space.\nInfo about cameras\, editing\, and microphones.\nWhat the industry expects.\nHow to slate like a pro.\nHow to execute amazing reads for commercial and theatrical auditions.\nAnd much more.\n\nTAKE A LOOK INSIDE THE PROGRAM\n \nWe can’t wait to work with you and help you reach your goals! \n~ Angela and David

I went in thinking I needed to brush up on my camera technique; where to look\, how to stay in frame\, how to play to the camera\, etc. What I got was that and more: I’ve deepened my approach to acting\, both for the camera and for the stage. I’ve got a new set of tools I can use to prepare more fully for auditions and roles. And\, most importantly\, I’ve got a new sense of confidence that’s been making a big difference in real-world casting and on-set situations. I got so much out of the first class that I went on to take the next in the series\, and I plan to continue with Mighty Tripod’s ongoing classes and workshops.” – Marty Krouse \n[button link=”https://mightytripod.com/testimonials/” type=”big” color=”green” newwindow=”yes”] Read more testimonials![/button] \n\nThis dynamic course is for actors who are:\n\n\nNew to the world of acting.\n\n\nLooking to book more auditions.\n\n\nNeeding confidence in their work.\n\n\nLooking for new tools to add to their craft.\n\n\nExperienced in stage acting\, but new to on-camera acting.\n\n\nReady to learn more about how to get ahead in the Seattle industry.\n\n\nYOUR INSTRUCTORS\n[learn_more caption=”Bios”] David has been acting professionally in Seattle since 2000\, and his work is critically acclaimed (David is a three time winner of the Seattle Times Footlight Award for Stellar Acting – 2002\, 2009\, and 2012. SUMMARY:APRIL Teen Monologue Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Monologue Month! \nActors should always have at least two monologues ready to go: One comic and one dramatic\, and something that shows off their craft. They need monologues which are age appropriate\, featuring a character they relate to\, and something they can really bring to life. A monologue is much more than just one person saying lines. \n\nWHAT: April Teen Monologue Workshop ($60 all sales are final)\nWHEN: Sunday April 28th 2:30pm-4:30pm\nWHO: Actors 13-18 years old\nWHY: To prepare two monologues to use for auditions on stage and screen. \n \n\nActors are asked to bring in one 2 minute monologue of their choosing.\nI will be giving each actor a NEW monologue to work on as well.\nMonologues will be filmed in class so actors can review footage at home.

At Mighty Tripod Acting Studio\, David and Angela stay connected to current Industry trends\, and have built relationships with all of the area’s casting directors and talent agents. We are also producers and working actors\, so we can share the wisdom gleaned from our experiences as we travel along the Actor’s Path. \nWe look forward to working with you!\n~ David and Angela
