Audition simulations are recorded and footage is provided to participants so learning can continue outside of the studio setting. Our studio is a safe space for learning for actors of any age\, and this course is built for actor age 14+.  \n\nThis course is designed to give actors confidence and comfort in front of the camera\, but  you will also learn about the PNW Entertainment Industry (agents\, casting directors\, producers) and where to find local auditions. \n\nThere is more information below and registration is at the bottom of this page. \nIF YOU ARE VISITING THIS PAGE ON A SMARTPHONE\, HOLD THE DEVICE HORIZONTALLY FOR BEST VIEWING. \nWHATISTAUGHTIN THECOURSE?\n\nAudition  Techniques for any on-camera job.\nThe Business of the Business.\nIntro to Script Analysis.\nActing Foundations & Refreshers.\nWho’s Who in the Local Industry (agents\, casting directors\, etc.).\nWhat makes a great headshot\, and more.\n\nWho is this Course For?\nLevels: Beginner – IntermediateAges: 14+This course is for actors who are new to acting in general\, and for actors with some acting background\, but limited on-camera experience. A lot of actors who have worked on the stage\, but are newer to the on-camera industry are a great fit for this class\, but we teach many actors in Master the Audition who have no acting/performance experience. \n \nMany of our students take this course more than once because auditioning is such an important skill to master (note: you might not master auditioning if you only take this course once\, but you are always welcome to take it again!). \n \nThis course is where most new students (new to this studio) start their journey with us\, and we consider it foundational training for the northwest on-camera actor. \n\nIf you have any questions about whether this class is right for your level\, don’t hesitate to reach out. \nI took Camera 1\, 2\, and 3 with Angela and David. They’re both fantastic teachers! As actors themselves who are very involved with everything going on in the industry\, their expertise when working on my own acting was extremely helpful. The class series really promotes enthusiasm and creativity in the process while working through a piece\, whether it is  commercial copy or scene study. They cover all aspects of self taping — the technical challenges as well as the acting challenges.  They cover all genres of auditions including commercial copy\, scene work\, and monologues. The didactic approach of pre-recorded lectures\, on-line classes and individual notes on each student’s homework covers all the bases.  Individual private sessions on each homework assignment\, every week\, written AND live\, on-line\, is unique as far as I know\, and the quickest way I know to achieving excellence in this critical skill set. – Rich Snyder\n\n\nThe Self-Tape Academy has been a great way to build and engage in acting\, especially during this time of social distancing. As most in the industry know\, self taping is becoming the new norm\, and this class is a great way to get a jump on what is becoming routine. The academy provided amazing advice towards the video set-up\, editing\, and of course\, acting. The class has a good variation of skill levels where you can choose how much of a challenge you take on in different self-tape scenes. As a beginner\, I have found their feedback and notes in class to be invaluable. Their knowledge and experience is a direct source from someone who has been in the industry and has seen the move towards self-taping. During this difficult time of distancing (Spring 2020)\, the class has been a major outlet and way to build skills within acting. – Dorian Dolleman\n\n\n\nThis class has been exactly what I have needed to help improve my self-taping skills for auditions. I have especially appreciated “Coach’s Corner” where we get one-on-one sessions with David or Angela. The one-on-one sessions have been insanely helpful in helping me hone my craft while also learning to audition within my own space.  Additionally\, this class is helpful in developing a proper home set-up for self-tapes and learning basic editing tricks when submitting for auditions I have felt immensely supported throughout this process and I feel comfortable asking them questions I typically might not ask other instructors. They will go the extra mile for you 🙂\n– Ruchi Loomba\n\n\nOVERVIEW\nIn this online course\, you will learn how to master the self-tape audition. Hear me now\, believe me later\, self-taping is here to stay. In order to compete\, you need to know how to execute outstanding self tapes from your home\, even when you only have a narrow window of time to complete the task. \nAs actors\, educators\, and producers (we also cast and direct)\, our unique and informed perspectives will help you nail your next self-tape\, and boost your confidence whenever you have an audition. \nIn this interactive course (virtual classes with the Zoom conference app & virtual private coaching with the instructors)\, you get one-on-one time with Angela and David. I went in thinking I needed to brush up on my camera technique; where to look\, how to stay in frame\, how to play to the camera\, etc. What I got was that and more: I’ve deepened my approach to acting\, both for the camera and for the stage. I’ve got a new set of tools I can use to prepare more fully for auditions and roles. And\, most importantly\, I’ve got a new sense of confidence that’s been making a big difference in real-world casting and on-set situations. I got so much out of the first class that I went on to take the next in the series\, and I plan to continue with Mighty Tripod’s ongoing classes and workshops.” – Marty Krouse \n\nThis dynamic course is for actors who are: \n\nNew to the world of acting.\nLooking to book more auditions.\nNeeding confidence in their work.\nLooking for new tools to add to their craft.\nExperienced in stage acting\, but new to on-camera acting.\nReady to learn more about how to get ahead in the Seattle industry.\n\nMEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS\n\nDavid has been acting professionally in Seattle since 2000\, and his work is critically acclaimed (David is a three time winner of the Seattle Times Footlight Award for Stellar Acting – 2002\, 2009\, and 2012. SUMMARY:Self-Tape Academy Online
DESCRIPTION:SALE PRICING IS ON!\nJOIN US IN JUNE AND LEARN HOW\nTO CRUSH YOUR SELF-TAPES!\nHave you ever wondered if your self-tapes were up to industry standards?\nDo you want to learn how to make your auditions from home stand out with lighting\, audio\, and acting choices?\nDo you want tips and tricks from actors/producers working right now in the film/TV/commercial market? \nIf you answered yes to any of these questions\, then this academy is for you. \nINFO\nOur Academy is a 5-Week\, Interactive Program:\n– Weekly Virtual Meetings via ZOOM PLATFORM (this is a free platform that is easy to use). Class meets each Monday of the session from 6:30-8:30pm PST.\n– Weekly assignments – you send us videos\, we send back notes.\n– Coach’s Corner: Virtual coaching appointments (to be scheduled) with Angela & David.\nLevels: Intermediate+ (students should have some acting experience).\nAges: 16+ (younger actors should take our Youth & Teen Academy).\nStart Date: June 01\, 2020. \nDates\, rates\, and more info below! \nLEARN ABOUT THE PROGRAM (watch the video below) \n \nTESTIMONIALS\n\nI have taken self tape workshops in New York City and they were good.  Mighty Tripod’s is even better.  David and Angela’s course is well organized and thought out. – Rich Snyder\n\n\n\nThe Self-Tape Academy has been a great way to build and engage in acting\, especially during this time of social distancing. – Dorian Dolleman\n\n\n\n\nThis class has been exactly what I have needed to help improve my self-taping skills for auditions. You will learn: \n\nHow to set up your space.\nHow to light your space.\nInfo about cameras\, editing\, and microphones.\nWhat the industry expects.\nHow to slate like a pro.\nHow to execute amazing reads for commercial and theatrical auditions.\nAnd much more.\n\nTAKE A LOOK INSIDE THE PROGRAM (video below)\n \nWe can’t wait to work with you and help you reach your goals! \n~ Angela and David \n
